Our Story
High Desert Comfort was founded in 2009 by Ray and Linda Castillo, who moved to Kernville in the early 2000s and saw that the valley needed a reliable local HVAC contractor — one that would show up when promised and charge a fair price without the runaround.
What started as a two-person operation out of a single service van has grown into a team of six, with customers across Kernville, Lake Isabella, Wofford Heights, Bodfish, and the surrounding communities. We still answer our own phone, still send the same technicians back to the same homes, and still believe that the best advertisement is a customer who tells their neighbor about us.
Ray Castillo — Owner & Lead Technician
Ray holds a California C-20 HVAC contractor license and is NATE-certified in air conditioning and heat pump systems. With over twenty years of hands-on experience, he leads every major installation and handles the diagnostic calls that other shops struggle to resolve.
